Teaching College Composition
As part of my M.A program for Rhetoric & Composition -- as well as my graduate teaching assistantship -- I took ENC 5705: Approaches to Teaching College Composition in Spring 2026. This course at the University of Central Florida was led by the director of First-Year Composition, Dr. Shane Wood.

ENC 5705 allowed me to examine the teaching of college composition based on theories and research into the field, expanding my knowledge of teaching to include more than just the student perspective. Additionally, the course gave me an opportunity to develop a theoretically informed pedagogy that's committed to supporting students.

The pages that follow -- my Reading Journals and Teaching Philosophy -- are two prominent artifacts from the course that display my engagement with theory/scholarship and illustrate my goals, values,
and beliefs as a teacher.
